  1. NO! I do not think she should be allowed to set sail. Two years is a LONG time for a thirteen-year-old to be alone on the open water. It is just too risky for such a young person. Perhaps she should try a shorter solo mission and eventually work up to an around-the-world adventure when she is a bit older.

  2. YES!Well, maybe,I don't know.If she contacted her parents a lot, and pack enough to go on a trip for two years, then yes.She would learn a lot about the world and study fish and eat them (if she knows how but if she dosn't know how, then she should pack her own food).Anyway, she could stop at different continents and meet new friends ,too! i think she can do this on her own.

  3. YES! I say yes because I think it's good for a young person to experience adventure. I also say yes because she will learn alot about the world. I also say NO! I say no because she may not pack enough food unless she stopped in alot of counties to get food. What if she loses contact with her parents? Another reason is what if she is in the middle of sailing and she decides that she does not want to sail around the world anymore?

  4. No! Because she could get caught in a hurricane, or her boat could tip over. And she could run out of water.

  6. NO! She might not have the skill set to survive plus very bad things could happen like shark attacks and her boat could capsize!

  7. No!If she gose to set sail throught the world.I think thats a very bad idea. That the war that is goniing on right now she might be cought in a mittle of a fight they might sink her boat. If a tornado hit her boat her chanse of survile is very little chance.I am just saying if they don't give her enouht money for food and water. Her survile is about 5% and thats her chance of survile.

  8. No!I think no because if she gets hurt or gets into trouble she might not know how to fix it.
13 is way too young to go away for 2 years by your self. When your 13 your not an adult and you need to be an adult to sail for that long.If I were her dad I would say No! You are too young!
If I were her I wouldn't do it.I would know I was too young, and I would miss my family. What if she didn't have enough stuff she would die.
She could get stuck in something bad.I think its a bad idea.

  9. NO!!!!! Laura should NOT be able to set sail alone!!!! It is too dangerous. If bad weather happens she would probably die. There is also sharks and other horrible creatures waiting to eat her up!!!! I think that she is not seeing the danger in this voyage. Her father has a loose screw in saying that she can go. I think she is making a horrible mistake.

  11. I think she shouldn't go until she is more adult.

  12. NO!!! It is to dangerous to do such a big thing for a 13 year old girl. Also she could get in a storm or drown in the ocean.

  13. I think no. A 13 year old should not be allowed to set sail on a 28 foot boat alone. She would be encountering storms and would not be near her family in two years, she would be homesick.

  14. YES! I think she should because adults are never letting kids do stuff they want to do and she should at least be allowed to try. she can always turn arund.
